In one-on-one sessions children work with one of our Occupational Therapists on a regular basis for a period of time to meet a specific goal.

Your child’s goals are set in collaboration with families and others, and we discuss this during our Parent planning sessions. Your child’s progress is measured against these goals with a review and agreed timeframes to ensure your child’s program is targeted and effective.

Care-givers are provided with recorded ideas and notes after each session so that you can continue to support your child at home or at school. We encourage and support communcaiton in-between sessions with all information available digitally as well as access to our library of resources.

Help your child build their skills and abilities

One-on-one sessions are ideal to help your child focus on one particular skill that has been identified as needing developing. Our OT will work closely with your child using play based activities to enhance and encourage skill development.

Play is central to our approach to “therapy” as it provides children with a tactile and engaging way for them to learn new skills, grow in confidence and gain independence.

Learn how to offer support as a parent or carer

As a parent or care-giver it can sometimes be difficult to understand the best way for you to help support your child.

We strongly encourage all our parents, and other family members to be actively involved in your child’s progress with us. This can involve many forms from participating in the actual session itself, follow up chats with your child’s OT, use of resources and implementing strategies at home. We always provide you with access to recorded ideas and notes on your child’s progress to help you along the way.

These sessions can occur at our place or yours

We are committed to getting the best from your child and this means delivering our service in a setting and location that best suits your child.

Sometimes to help encourage your child in their learning, we offer flexible options in regard to location. Sometimes we have our sessions at Our Place, at your place, your child’s school or perhaps another community location, such as a sporting club. The most important thing to us is that your child is comfortable and relaxed.
